yeah i know i got this ^ + a gamo 4x 32 for 250 AUD but I've seen just the laser and clamps on ebay for $20 or so. It was just convenient for me that it all came in a bundle.

red-dot or laser is probably the way to go - when you consider the average accuracy of a homebuilt spudgun, you have to look at the sort of commercial sights made for shotguns as opposed to more precise weapons.
