Well... it has been a long time since I have posted any spudguns. Here is my wonderful new Winter Wonder Rifle. It has been designed to be shot mostly during the winter, as the name implies. This gun is basically my chamber and barrel from my old gun with the addition of a new ALPHA TECHNOLOGIES 1/2" QEV ordered from Fastenal, wood stock, and a schrader valve instead of the old quick disconnect fitting. The stock came from a broken toy cap rifle that I sanded down and drilled out a hole for the blowgun to fit through. I can wait to shoot some ice slugs out of it after it gets a little cooler down here.

The QEV cost $21 at Fastenal.iPaintball wrote:How much did that qev cost?
I am going to hopefully redirect the fill valve downwards to help with that problem.homedepotpro wrote:i love the stock but it defeats the whole purpose of having a dropped stock with that fill valve it the way

its so simple, yet it is so cool.

beautiful ergonomics there, looks like the sort of launcher that would be ideally graced with a red dot scope.

I never knew that they made QEVs like this America until I googled Mead QEV where I clicked the link to the exaust valves page at Fastenal and found they made ones like this in America. The manufacturer of the valve even has their company based in my state!dauphinoise potato wrote:Sweet looking copper rifle, I didn't know you Americans could get those QEV's.
It has the breech load feature using the compression fitting like hotwired's copperhead prime. It buried the nail dart half way into a solid wood telephone pole from 30 feet away.spud yeti wrote:Great looking gun, whats its performance like? Have you/are you going to make it with a breech load feature?
Good work otherwise
They hold up fine after being fired, but when you try to pull it out of wood with pliers the the taped part on the back slides back a little.mtronic wrote:very clean, very nice. I like the dart too. How do they hold up?

That is a sweet gun dude. I still have to make a copper rifle, so i definetely have to order one of those QEVs. Once again nice rifle man.
i want to make a copper gun but i want to try it with a home made piston valve. Anyone have any ideas on how to make one for a copper gun? what would you use as a piston? I can use inner tube rubber for the sealant. Well if i cant find anything then i would probably get a QEV.
You Legend :thumbright: that thing is crazy, i love it.
now heres my questions:..
- When will the video be ready
- If it fits spherical shaped ammunition, what kind of accuracy do you get at say 20m?
- Whats the running pressure on it?
- did i mention i like it a lot..?
peace dude n great stuff
