Man i love Chevorlets! I hate Fords(Fix Or Repair Daily) Dodges are not bad. Chevy can out pull and is the best looking pickups. Whats your opinion? :?:

Honestly, i use to think like that, but now i belive a truck is only as good as the owner and they take care of it. Performace wise ( in my experience) the chevrolet trucks do seem to be faster, than the competition, but there is always the exeption. and there are now a lot more trucks in the performace catagory, like the SS silveraldo, the F- Lightning, Dodge SRST w/e. and performace mods outta the ying-yang. but off the lot it seems chevy has more get up and go than ford, never driven a dodge off the lot.
my 88' scottsdale 1500 pick-up beat a 03' eclipse with koni rims, some performance chip, on a straight away. but eclipses are slow w/o crazy mods.
My truck has only has one performace mod, a dyno-max muffler, not a set ( headers, catalitic converter, high flow pipes) just the muffler, so may add like 1.52 hp...idk, anyways its got a 5.0L 305 v8 smallblock, straight outta 88' i rebuilt it w/ dad ....5 years ago. still has the old throttle body on it, sad fuel pump (like 8-12 psi) compared to modern 60-64psi on my friends 5.7L 350.
Chevy did create the small block, pretty much every truck has a small block in it today.

my truck has been drove pratically everyday, got over 250,000 miles on it, still runs great... about 5000 miles ago had to replace the transmission, the shop where we bought the tranny said its rare to see a tranny lasting 250,000 miles.

But i take care of it, oil changes, tune ups, replace filters. never push it hard.

before chevy came out with the small block, ford ran "flat heads" and plymoth used the straight six, still used today.

in the upcoming presidential election, there will be several candidates who will be running, one of whom is Hillary Clinton. Now WAIT A SECOND!!! I though there was some sort of rule that prevented someone from serving more than two terms in office. Vote Against Hillary: Presidential Elections 08

..And Chevy is installing hand warmers on there bumpers.

I dont see why there is this big contriversy. I see the same amount of Fords and Chevys at the mechanics.

I don't see why so many americans go and buy big trucks and suvs that have 2 or 3 times the horsepower that they'd ever need to do anything (only some people need all that power for their jobs). All of this extra power guzzles twice the gas out of their engines. So, before people complain about the gas prices, they should look at what car they are driving.

Also, I don't know why so many people are willing to go to the car dealership and buy a new shiny car for 35 grand, when they can look around and find the same car used with 2,000 miles on it for 10,000. Seriously, the depretiation (sp?) rate of cars is so fast, once you drive it off of the lot it's worth like 1,000 dollars less than what you bought it for.

I think the price drop for driveing of the lot is more then that i think i heard like 5 or 6 thousand, it's redickuless!!! It don't matter what you drive, once you wear it out, it's wore out. Me, i'm a Chevy man.

as a mechanic a come from a long line of mechanics, I have to say that all chevies arent good some are but most are useless peices of shit I think every car made after 1980 is crp the dont go up in value are harder to self maintain and are made from less durible products like fiberglass and plastic instead of steel and rubber my 73 has more steel in the a foot than most new cars have. anyway ford quality is thee best between 1961 and 1976 chevies go from 1950 to 1972 dodge gos from 1932 to 1979 (esspecialy the powerwagon!) buick gos from 1939 to 1967 toyota was really good in quality(better than most) from 1967 to 1980( heres a story about a 68 landcruiser two criminals stole one and tried to escape in it the police chased them to the edge of a cliff they jumped out and let it fall 200ft on its nose the crooks crawled down the cliff when they got to the toyota it was still runnin so they flipped it over and drove off( the police lost the criminals) preatty cool huh I have a 69 land cruiser and its just so damn indestructible still has the oringinal engine never rebuilt. I know two guys one has a 1965 chevy stepside and one had a similer one the use to ram each other and the bumpers(hard!)for fun with no damage. an old ford test for their pickups was to jump then off a ramp about 70 or so feet and if the had no real damage they passed the test. the new test is to run then into a wall and if they break they pass. see what I mean about qualityhow often do people get in accedents at 70 miles an hour and how often do people back in to a post or hit a speed bump to hard only to have there plastic moble break on them so i implore you buy a 70s car off ebay for 2 grand and put a grand in to it and save the $17000 bucks for other purposes.

When it comes to trucks I like dodge the most. I like the looks of them far more than fords and a little more than chevies. I dont have much to pull to absolute max towing isnt huge but its still fun to talk about. When it comes to cars I am a GM guy all the way. I love the vette more than about anything out there. I like all the cadillacs and the old firebirds. I dont really mind ford cars but none of them do anything for me. The full sized cars all look frumpy and the mustang just seems like a wanna be racer. The biggest thing I hate about ford is the dealerships and more so their policy. We bought a brand new conversion van from them a while back and the third day we had it the trnny went. No big deal thats why it comes with a warrenty. Wrong. They were going to replace it with a transmition that had over 150,000 miles on it that had been rebuilt. We didnt buy a van with parts that had 150,000 miles on them. We bought a new van. The dealership wouldnt budge and when we called they told us they would rather gouge their eyes out with nails then talk to us. We had been fairly polite about it until then. Thats when all hell broke and eventually someone from detroit got on the phone and eventually we got a new transmittion. It just was a nightmare to deal with them. I dont know if the other dealerships would have been different or not but it was enough for me to never want another ford in my life.
