2" Barrel Sealing Tee Cannon
Here's another cannon I've turned out in the past week...
After my time off Spudding I've made up so many projects... I've got a half a notebook full of concept drawings!!!
Here's another one of my projects... Completed in a day, except for painting, a 1" female, and a 90 degree elbow...

This gun has went through quite a bit since the last update... I've broke the piston multiple times and have broke the valve completely since the first build... I've also went with various new pilot valves...

You can obviously see that I test shot this gun, due to the broken piston... A giant spring to recoil the piston forward would have prevented that problem, but I don't have and giant springs
This gun is very strong for being bottlenecked from 3" to 1" back to 2"... Firing at 60 PSI or so I shot a plastic practice golfball (with holes all over in it) a good 150 feet with no barrel at all... I can't wait to get a golfball barrel on this thing
Sorry for the bad quality of the Finished gun images... I was taking the pictures from about 4-5 feet away while still on the close-up "Flower" image focusing settings... I'll take new ones eventually

The nice thing is that I live about 3 miles from a Lowes store... so as soon as I wake up, I'll drive there and buy the parts to fix it...

That looks like a very well made valve
It looks like the cannon you are going to put it on will get some pretty good power.

Finished this one off today!!!
Hope the blow gun doesn't blow out... I may have to buy a longer nipple, attach the blow gun with a compressor hose, or redo the end cap entirely...
I think I'm going to fire this gun at high PSI with a remote fired blow gun... I'm trying to get the end cap to break off... I hate the job I did on the end cap, and I could possibly throw out the $5 of PVC parts just for the reason that I drilled the holes to close together and too big... and then tapped them very crappily with a hex nipple...
Overall I like the valve, but the end plug just makes me mad for some reason... I hope it just blows out when I try to shoot the gun, since I haven't screwed it in with anything for reinforcement...
I wouldn't mind adding a spring to the piston also...

This gun is insanely powerful from what I expected...
My last 2" based BST wasn't as powerful, due to the very small gap between the piston in open position and the piston is closed position... It barely moved at all between the two positions, so the airflow was restricted...
Apparently the seal on the pistol is pretty shotty... (I tried to make it loose, but it's a tad to small). The blowgun doesn't vent air fast enough to create a vacuum to pull the piston back... So I unscrewed the blowgun...
Without having another ball valve... I was holding my finger on the hole while the gun was filling, shutting off the inlet valve, and then removing my finger off the blowguns previous hole... Even at 20 psi (the highest I could hold it in with my thumb), the gun was producing strong winds about 10 feet away weather forecaster...

It's ok... I ruined it anyway... Sorry I didn't post images here...
Trying to hack saw off the end cap to replace it with a 2" to 1" bushing, I broke my miter box (if not already broken) and started sawing on an angle...
Ruining the $6 or so of PVC fittings... They could be partially recoverable though...

How would I make it serviceable anyway? Add 2" pipe instead of a plug... Then add a much longer piston and a 2" to 2.5" bushing with a 2.5" male and female cap?
A piston that fits in 2" pipe won't fit out a 2" male will it?

I learnt that serviceable lesson the hard way. I had a 2in piston a while back that wasnt serviceable and the piston got a little deformed and wouldnt seal. I ended up just sawing off the barrel and chamber and throwing away the valve(kept pilot assembley)Because it was useless.

It was hot glue and I accecedently left it next to a heating lamp the rest of the story explains itself.
I guess it won't cost that much more, but I'm probably just going to work with the current one...
I can screw in a small piece of 2" pipe and a 2" coupler, then extend the current 1" pipe with a coupler, so I have just enough room for a piston, which is constrained by a 2" by 1" bushing (slip x thread)...
Then I can hook up a sprinkler \ small tee for a pilot...

make sure your pilot volume isnt to big
