Recently i have been straying away from combustions and more twords the more reliable pneumatics. After working several landscaping jobs, i found myself with an excess of dough. So i decided to but a propane metered gun, which i have been wanting to do since my first gun. I had left over 2.5'' sch40 pvc from a prior tennis ball gun project, not wanting to dish out 40 bucks for some 3'' i used 15'' of 2.5'' for my chamber. The barrel is 3' of 1.5'' sdr21. I have a custom built fan using a prop from an old broken rc plane powered by two AA's. bbq sparker ignition and a female quick connect fitting for filling. there is a 1'' ball valve for venting.

it shoots beautifully. i got ~250+ yards (hard to tell because it began falling into the trees). I use 30psi in the meter and the gun report is just the right loudness/noise.

Very nice system you have there...portable fueling meter mainly. I had actually dreamed up something like this one day a couple of weeks ago but haven't as yet followed through. I'm considering using a system like this on upcoming builds.

You're fortunate to be so close to the pipe company. My pipe company in town sells 20 foot sticks of 2.5" only. They also didn't seem too happy to deal with a 1 stick guy who has to saw it in half to get it loaded to take home. Probably just the one grouchy guy....still I thought it wasn't very good customer service.

I wish the Home Depot's and the Lowe's of the world would just carry the 2.5" stuff....

wow, nice job homedepotpro. I love the Quick connect/disconnect system for the direct propane injection. I'm doing the same thing (almost) with my bazooka combustion.

2 thumbs up!!
