Aussie spudders unite!!
Damn twitch I'm sorry man, I feel ya on that one. I dated a girl who gave me the "wasn't ready for a relationship and didn't want to hurt me" speech, ha that was bullsh*t.
Well I might as well join the bandwagon here, so heres my ex. We kinda not really broke up about two months ago (as in we just stopped talking).
I got the "oh my cell phone is broken so thats why I haven't talked to you in days" speech from her (got it twice, though the second time it had been almost 2 weeks) and the "oh I've been busy thats why I haven't called" speech too, which was about when I said screw this. I don't put up well with people trying to lie or bullsh*t me, especially when they suck at it.
Oh well we still had fun while it lasted.

No, seriously. Except it was like almost 3 years ago, haven't dated since, don't trust most of 'em
I did get my revenge though, I had saved my MSN convo's, which I then leaked to her friends, as she was always saying bad stuff about them. She pretty much got kicked out of her social group, I then somehow became friends with her again a few months later.
She tried to ask me out, but I pretty much rejected her on the spot, then 6 months later, friends again. She pretty much dated anything that moved at this period and many people were taking bets on how long her relationships would last, I pretty much had her full trust at this stage and managed to have the inside edge...won most of the time.
And now, well she settled down with a guy, the betting dried up and my business was over...
Haha that is one hell of a story, way to get even. I understand the no dating part, I have trouble trusting them and life is a hell of a lot easier when your single. Sorry to here your business dried up though, sucks when that happens.
Its odd, that story sounds like the same situation my best friend (shes a girl just to make it clear) and I have (though we've never dated).
We fought a couple years ago, didn't talk for a while, Then friends ago. Couple months later, some a**hole told her I had said personal stuff about her that actually I didn't and she got mad and we didn't talk for the whole summer. Then friends again, well now best friends.
But before when we were kind of friends (couple years ago), a friend and I would bet on how long her relationships would last and occasionally mess with some of her boyfriends (we stopped though when one threatened to kill me). I stopped doing the betting though when I found out my friend actually liked her and was just trying to get her single for himself (which never worked).
Now I just bet with her about how long her boyfriends will last and help her mess with them when they f*ck her over.... She's started to send mix signals to me now though and I'm getting a little confused, really starting to irritate me.
*sigh* I don't think I'll ever be able to understand women.

Ah dudes we all just suckers for women and gambling .
@Carlman nah dude she just "scared of the future". Coming from the girl who offered everything I wanted on a gilded platter but hey we all got those mates who are girls. Besides I got a reason to be happy. I got my first car. Who wants to go and find some women?

@iPaintball and frankrede, I usually retain this expression for when I see one guy with 3-4 hot girls but here goes: "Some guys have all the luck!!!"
@MrCrowley and other fellas in H.S. , you could try one thing that worked for me my senior year: Take Home Economics class.
(not sure if they call it the same thing there but it's cooking and home stuff here).
I had an extra elective I needed so I figured I'd get to eat snacks, Then I found out the other benefits!!! 8)

well thats a good idea unless your school doesn't have it (like mine) or you already graduated (like I did).
Still, the home eco is a good suggestion.
I personally found that by not pursuing girls in my early high school years led to me not being labeled as an a**hole or a playa as many of friends had been labeled as, so it made finding girls much easier. Still, I've never understood the "if one girls mad at you, they're all mad at you" concept.

Same exact situation happend with me. This girl openly liked me, and told me for about a month and she constantly flirted with me, but then she started sending me mixed signals and was always talking about other guys in front of me (to make me jealous probly) and then after I tried to get serious with it, she acted like a total B****. It turns out after that shes done the smae thing to about 6 guys in my school, and like 3 out of school. Complete Wh*** if you ask me, so me and my friends did the exact smae thing as you and made bets on how long shed be with someone. (shortest time was about 3 hours, longest time was a week )MrCrowley wrote: She tried to ask me out, but I pretty much rejected her on the spot, then 6 months later, friends again. @iPaintball,
Ah very nice
oh and, heres my story
I was friends with my girlfriend for about a year, and we became really close, best friends
She dated a couple guys while we were just friends but I held out, I had always liked her, but after a certain point I really started to have feelings for her. She would sometimes send mixed signals and it would really mess with my head. Last october though I finally asked her out, but things were awkward and uncomfortable and we broke up in a couple days. I thought things were going to go to shit but we were still best friends and it was almost as if nothing happened. I still had feelings for her though.
Then about a month later we were hanging out and we agreed to have a friends with benefits type of deal, no feelings involved. Call it weird but that night had my first real kiss(not just pecking), things were great.
The next day she called me out of nowhere telling me that she was starting to have feelings for me, then about a week later we were at the movies and we were in front of this really nice fountain at this brand new casino, and I told her that I wanted to be with her then I kissed her.
And things have been great ever since, today is our six month of being together.Shes my first love.
Current project: Afghanistan deployment
Girls and younger women in their teens and early 20's don't even know what they want in a man, except that they like the attention you give them...that's it! And to them, it is all about them at that age. That's why you'll never understand them, they typically aren't operating with a full deck until at least age 25 or 26 (most men aren't either but that's a different conversation... )
Just wait until the women (and you) get up around age 28 - 32 and beyond... The tables are usually turned by then and the male has control (or typically so anyway) ...you'll find females muuuuch more pliable and agreeable then.

Right, the HS romance is great experience, but to be taken at that- an experience and precurssor for the future when you are more mature. I can't say that those exact ages are right, because most people develop a bit earlier than that -in their early to mid twenties.starman wrote:Girls and younger women in their teens and early 20's don't even know what they want in a man, except that they like the attention you give them...that's it! Before you can have an extremelly serious relationship with another, you must first know exactly who you are and where you are going.
Frank is right on with his friends first bit, in my opinion. My wife and I started dating at ages 21 & 22. First we were best friends, both dating within our own circle but never each other. When we finally decided to give it a go- wow! There was no stopping us.
