Ok, I have made ball valve pnuematics, sprinkler valve pnuematics, burst disk pnuematics, but never a piston cannon! But this cannon has a 2 foot 3 inch 1 1/2 inch chamber, and a 2 foot 1 inch barrel. It is piloted by a 1/4 inch ball valve, and filled through a shrader. The piston is superlight, and made of a Paul Sabastion Deodorant cap, like THIS ONE, And the sealing face is a pink IPOD Nano sleeve(2 of them).And the bumper is section of a pool noodle. It seals excelently at as little as 5 PSI! I have only tested it up to 20 psi, since the epoxy is still curing(thats why there isnt any nasty primer stains, I used some Quick Set epoxy,and it is rated to 1000 psi). And I was smoothing out the epoxy with my finger, and all of a sudden my finger started Burning like hell, I asked my dad why it did that, and he said it was just the chemical reaction of the 2 parts bieng mixed together. It has a OD painjob, and I have the stencil and paint for the number/letter combo on the side.

The color is actually really flat, but the camera flash made it look more glossy.

The stand is not taped on, but has tape around the 2 inch "clamp" pipe

The only tools used were a screwdriver, saw, and drill.

Very nice build.

@elitesniper

The piston is made out of a cap Its so light I doubt you need a bumber.

Worst thing just happend, my sealing face on my piston got sucked through the barrel. I will go out to homemdepot to get a male adapter and a threaded cap so It will be servicable, But I will have to cut off some of the chamber(which wont be a problem since I have a shitload of pilot volume, so I can afford to cut it down.

Nice build man, I like that it simply looks like a length on pipe :) just dont ask me why lol.

I take it if your giving it a black paint job, then you finally used all your blue paint :D

Yeah sounds like a good idea to wait before you paint it, i recently made my first piston and I had so much trouble with it, so i was really glad that I only used compression fittings on it.

I tried really hard to get the cap off. I used a hammer, I used a hairdryer, and I even soaked it in boiling water, but it wouldnt come off, so I had to saw it off, which was a good thing because now I have little to no pilot volume :P

It turned out well for you then. I am gong to try and reduce my pilot volume by filling the copper pipes with something, and then drilling a small hole through it. Im also going to experiment with a slightly different shape piston, which I think will improve the efficiency.

For filling up the pipe, try GREAT STUFF, it really lives up to its name.
