ITWOSFT (World of SpudFiles):
I don't know about anyone else, but I've just had a PM dropped in my Inbox from "Spudrr67", inviting me to another forum he/she/it (presumably he) has set up. Has anyone else had similar messages?

Spudrr67, on the off chance you read this - I'm not that impressed. I don't like having my PM inbox filled with what is pure and simple advertising. Run your own site if you want, but I think my post count here says I'm perfectly content with this one.

I got one too...... Usually a good way to get people mad at you.....

In all honesty, We have this forum, which is so deep in members and knowledge that making another forum is absolutely pointless. Its like starting your own car company.... its just not going to get as big as the big-name guys.

Also, ITWOST,

I was firing Mike the HP marblegun today, and i had some spare 3/8 steel rod laying around, so i modified it to tumble while in flight and fired it.......... And the 2X4 i shot it at EXPLODED......... spreading parts of it allllll over my backyard....... Sadly, i couldnt re-create the result.

ITWOST:

I Fixed the Pilot line leakage in Mike the HP marble gun by "hardpiping" it in with 2 5.5" 1/4in Pipe nipples.

Due to this Modification, I was able to for the first time, Fire a cannon at 500 PSI.........

This might be against forum rules but:

HOLY FREAKING SHIT! Im a serious fan.

Lets put it this way. Theres now a marble imbedded about 6 inches into a tree. My silencer blew up, leaving me relatively Deaf. The recoil was so hard theres now a Bruise on my shoulder (provided, i Bruise easy...) And the Little hose I use to differ the Pilot Exhaust away from my ear came free of its bondage and did the whole "whiplash" thing, giving me a nice slice on the hand.....

Now to fix all the problems and Do it again!

I'm in halifax right now and I am wondering because there is a store caled princes auto and it has alot of pneumatic equipment how much pressure should a 1/2'' 3/4'' nd 1'' qev hold safely? don't know if they have them but it's good to know if I see one. maybe I will get a slide check to.
You can tell how awesome a cannon is by the pressure used.

They have that stuff in a store?

Care to post some pictures of said valves? thats really what determines how much pressure they will take. Do they look like the McMaster ones?

They should be good to at least 300, but dont quote me on it.

I have used a 3/4" McMaster one at 600 several times with no problems, and no leakage that I could tell. I have used it tens of times well above 300. I see no reason for Princess Auto to carry parts for factory cylinders though... That would be kind of like Starbucks selling industrial dishwashers....

kind of spuddish

Working on an ETG. The current setup is a 1/8in steel pipe connected to a union, with another small piece comming out. 12 AWG wire is sticking into it, with the barrel being the other electrode. Right now, im just dropping aluminum foil in, suckish i know, im working on getting powder. Shots are still impressive take a look at the pics (still from a video at 30fps):
http://coil-gun.blogspot.com/

These are dry shots. Today i tried with a steel projectile against 1/4 in particle board. From 2 feet away, the only damage was a black smudge on the board =) I did it once with water, and the shot was awesome, but i accedently deleated the video =(

Well I was there today no luck with finding any qevs. I was there last year and I bought a double acting pneumatic cylinder for the hell of it that's why I thought that there might be qevs there. But what I got was 3 blowguns $2.79 canadien each inexspencive not cheap and a $15.49 600psi liquid filled guage. Damn I need a princes auto in Sydney.
EDIT: I almost for got on one of those machines that you play a game to get a prize that are at walmarts? I was one fing line of blocks away from getting a ipod shuffle for a dollar. You don't know how pissed I am.

Sticky, did you get the catalogue? They do mail order.

Also check online.

A continuing Canadian tradition. :D

ps. That's the blowgun I use. Brass internals (not plastic) and easy to mod. With the copper gun I take it to 450psi.
