i made this for airsoft since i didnt have money for a new gun. it uses empty shotgun shells with the backs drilled out full of bbs and some wadding. im pretty proud of my engineering on the break barrel system. it is spring loaded and well-greased so i could get reload time down to about 4-5 seconds.
i use it at only about 30 psi because any more and my friends said it started to hurt. i had a simple backpack air supply that i could get about 8-10 shots with. it gets some good range and a decent grouping of bbs i think cause the barrel is pretty long. definitely worth the $20 i spent on it. questions/comments?

I'm sure that "soda" bottles can handle up to at least 80PSI...

I've taken mine up to about 120PSI once.... but soo much power lol.

but 80PSI is recommended but if it does explode, it wont shrapnel like PVC does.
It's Nerf or Nothing.

Don't start crying when I play this as my hobby, Paintball, Airsoft and Nerf are equally good hobbies, except you can play Nerf in public. Good day! Hmph!

What about possible hearing damage? (Since that thing is kinda placed against your cheek/ear.

well i used to be a bit of an explosive fanatic and we would fill water bottles up with bromine and rubbing alcohol and when they went off (at about 210psi) u could hear the sound carry out quite a ways and there were very minimal pieces left of the water bottles.

Pocket, that sounds like an advanced version of the Works bomb. They've pretty much been outlawed where I live after some kids nearly killed a mailman with one by 'accident'. (They were looking for trouble, but not that much). Blowing up a mailbox is a federal offense anyway. Needless to say our school won't be seeing much of them for a while.

Back on topic;

isban, what size PVC is that, and what gauge shotgun shell are you using?

i filled it up from an old fire extinguisher tank at ~120psi regulated to 30 with a hose connected to the gun. i had to pump up the tank between rounds of airsoft.
its 3/4" pipe with 12 gauge shells.
the body of the shell fits perfectly but the rim at the back is slightly larger so it keeps the whole shell from shooting out.

It is cool, it's a cannon you can actually use for recreation. I mean, that's what shotguns are for! Except you do need a lot of AOL cd's to have fun with it though.....

I might have to snag this from you,
Except using Davidviani's shells instead........ and a CO2 setup.

Any idea of the FPS? Aka, could you use it at an airsoft field?

I'd rather use it for shooting CD's when the wind is too high for R/C. But Airsoft is fine, too..... If you have a multi-shot reg setup.

OK, major props on this!!! I have been looking at donig some thing with empty shot gun shells for a long time they fit in 3/4 pvc perfect and are perfect for holding bbs. I am currently looking at making a pump action, 4 shot clip fed gun, but I cant seem to get the shell extractor to work quite right.

very cool
No matter how rich you become, how famous or powerful, when you die the size of your funeral will still pretty much depend on the weather.
