A few comments:
1) The gun is made with DWV fittings, and could easily blow apart.
2) The lack of primer increases this risk.
3) The gun looks terrible.
4) It is very poorly designed.
5) It isn't even close to being a 'sniper'
6) Ventilation, not insulation. Judging by your cannon, this wasn't your only 'brain-dead moment'
7) The fact that you seem to intend to use this cannon even after the lack of safety has been pointed out only re-enforces my assumption from #6.

the cannon is dead after every ones comments. BC i agree with you my gun sucks. but ive got primer and pvc cement now. Also my next design will be better.

Keep the sprinkler valve if you can - be a shame to waste it.

The cannon looks pretty cool, even though it has some design flaws. Instead of merely pointing these flaws to ballad of NJ,
Everyone jumped down his throat and ridiculed him.

Flaw 1: The chamber volume is excessive, for this particular barrel volume.

Flaw 2: The 1/2" fittings, feeding into a 1/2" cross, choke the flow to your sprinkler valve. - The Cross diameter should've matched the valve inlet diameter.

Flaw 3: WAY too many fittings, making up the barrel assembly. - Makes me wonder if you meant for it to be breech-loaded?

Flaw 4: Epoxying a nickel, in the TEE fitting, for the bipod support. - The TEE's "stops" could've simply been hogged -out, so that it slipped over the barrel.

Flaw 5: "IF" your barrel is several pieces of 1/2" pipe, your ammo can/will hang up on the gaps, as it leaves the barrel, decreasing performance.

Flaw 5: Epoxy is super-strong, but way too expensive to be using on your components. The use of cleaner, primer and solvent-weld cement, is recommended for pressurized applications.

Now, to all of those who ridiculed his mom: If I were little-johnnies parents, (especially a MOM) - I wouldn't want the whole basement, as well as my whole house - to stink of primer, and solvent-weld. - Especially with all of the windows on the house closed, because of the cold weather. - Not to mention purple-primer stains on the floor.

Why we get in these sarcastic moods in the winter could be partly because most of us are bored and stuck inside the house most of the time. But hey, who knows? - I say; Cut the guy some slack and just help him out, rather than being so negative.

It's a helluva way to kick up a dead topic though, i'll give him that.

IMO, it's a reasonable enough excuse to kick up the topic with an excellent reply. So i'll let it slide. Though I don't think the OP still frequents here.

Yeah, your not suppose to use primer OR glue with out proper ventilation, does your basement have windows? If so open two, one on each side of the room, and you all set. Tell your mom that by not using primer your actually making it less safe.

why do you use primer what does it do because i dont use it but my cannons hold up fine

primer is a component of proper solvent welding it liquefies the PVC pipe so that it can become fused with the fitting, hopefully you at least use PVC cement on your cannons otherwise they are extremely unsafe to use at pressure, if you bump it the glue weakens and if you do it enough times BOOM!!! and then you will be lucky if only your ears are damaged

I visit this site, ever so often, just to see if anyone's come up with a new/different idea and usually ONLY post in recent topics, which are in a menu to the left of the screen.

Not that anyone's really counting or that it matters .... it was 22 months. We're coming in just shy of 2009 there Carl....

However, I do appreciate DRs perspective.

Those tanks are FAR to large for the barrel, that is a lot of wasted charging time for much wasted air, Even one of those tanks is more than enough for an effective rifle, also the bi pod would be better shorter, because at that angle firing from a prone position would be impossible.

Anyone else see the relation between the front view of the tanks and a certain part of the female anatomy
