"Why aren't my questions being answered?"

1 - You suck at asking questions.

2 - People would rather mislead you, or give you a BS answer. Not on purpose they just don't know WTF is going on. For instance...

Jon asks - "Well I got pipe that says nsf-pw and then it says nsf-dwv. Whats up with that? I just realized this the other day."

Dudeman has no F-ing idea whats going on and says - "thats really weird, did you paint over the pipe? Can you clearly see the writing?"

Not until Ragnarok replies can we get a solid answer - "This is not uncommon. Any pipe that is suitable for PW (Potable Water) and is pressure rated is certainly up to the tasks of DWV (Drain Waste Vent, all low pressure applications).

It's a certification of what the pipe is usable for, not a pressure rating in itself. Unfortunately, DWV has incorrectly become a synonym for "non pressure rated", which is what has caused this confusion."

Leading me to my point: If you don't know WTF is going on, don't post.

So what ends up happening is a majority of the posts on this forum are worthless, and incomplete answers which lead to tangents. If people acted responsibly and simply contributed well thought out posts we wouldn't have the clutter and bam it would be a simple Q&A.

Take a peek around and you will find that a limited few that spend the time to give solid well thought answers.

Very nice, except one thing:
People who are too lazy to do their research will probably not take the time to read your 2nd page. Though your page does give a good explanation of the reason behind things, they will not read it anyways and we will always have to say:

NOW GO DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH, AND STOP BEING SO LAZY!

I'll have you know, I know girls that when they were 9 were perfectly capable of writing neatly.

However, you do also make a good point, a newcomer's posting quality does affect how much we tell them.
Point added to the wiki, but I used slightly different terminology to "because you write like a 9 year old girl" (partly for the reasons FishBoy has stated)

I preferred: "You've come in with a post that looks like a rejected ream from the infinite monkey room."

I got a sad news flash for ya. It seems most members don't bother reading the entire set of rules/post or a well written anything. Sucks but it's true. Why? Because it doesn't "give" a instant answer!

Haha it'd be funny if we had a test for all new members, broken down into the sections:
Pneumatic
Combusion
BBMG/Strafer/Airsoft
Hybrid

They have to take a quiz on each section, and for each section they pass, they get a badge allowing them to ask any questions about said sections.

I'm just dreaming here, it'd be nice, but it'd never work.

Unfortunately not, no. However, this is there to quote at those people who are getting shirty about our apparent side stepping, to try and stifle the "Just answer my question" posts more promptly and try and avoid more newbies sending nasty PMs/emails to MrCrowley.
