I put the grips on, I had them waiting. I'll update pics soon.
Oh, as far as recoil goes, I'll have to wait and see how bad it is to judge what is necessary. Certainly a decent pad at least.

Looking forward to seeing this thing gripped out and ready to fire. Sometime soon...hopefully...

Looking good there..but make sure you get a pad sorted out before you do a firing! Depending on ammo, that will have a serious kick and blunt trauma is never good.
Brilliant, shame it aint a keeper

I am ordering everything I need to finish it: stun gun, fan, laser, crash test dummy etc. I have a campout coming up in less than 2 weeks and I am on a mission to have it done by then.psycix wrote:Shinyness in sun: 100% 8)

2 weeks is good. Can't wait. That Anodizing really makes it stand out, I love it.
In my opinion $2000 is too pricey but for a piece of work like that it's understandable. I suspect it will look even better when fully completed.
Do you have a shot of the inside of the chamber? Also, what is the thickness of the aluminum?

I will upload an inside shot of the chamber. The thickness of the chamber is 3/16", and the U-bend is 2" SCH40 (.154 wall). The barrel is 2" x .065 wall tubing supported by 2 1/4" x .065 wall tubing with UHMW bushings inside for smooth forwards and back movement.King_TaTer wrote:2 weeks is good. Can't wait. It feels awesome in my hands and I can't wait to mount a recoil pad and everything else mounted. It will have a green laser, good for daytime use.
I might even make a simple tripod system with a plug for remote firing. I am also considering a removable rifle sling to take the weight off your arms when using the cannon.

So you pay for materials and keep the gun? You also noted that they would "make sure it came back to them". If I'm mistaken and it's all yours then great!Moonbogg wrote:Lol, yeah thats what I meant.jackssmirkingrevenge wrote:Are you sure you're not ecstatic?
Good luck on getting it made, looks like it will be a blast
Now THAT would have been really awesome.inonickname wrote:Ohh I was under the impression they were using the plans as payment or something like that :\ oh well..cool anyway

Yes thats correct. I paid for materials and they made the gun for me. I am to pay the tab with my work invoices. Today they gave me my first drawing, so I get to start paying right away lol.inonickname wrote:So you pay for materials and keep the gun? Yup. This one's dog crap, that one's elephant manure, the one at the back is pigeon and the other one is from someone who had a really bad curry last night.Moonbogg wrote:the owner really knows his sh*t

Just thought i'd post some progress pics of the build. I was asked to show a pic of the inside of the chamber, so I included that. Have a look. Next time I post images it will likely be complete. I even got a nice pump to use for hybrid power. I will use a surfboard bag to act as a huge rifle case. It's gonna be sweeeeet.
