You'll need:
An adjustable flat top piston, a barrel cut and crowned at 20" open up the transfer port, steel breech, poly tube mod, extensive valve work, lighter valve spring, heavier hammer spring and a hammer spring power adjuster (let's you use the spring to its utmost), and a hardened steel pump pin.
I also use extended probes on the bolt to ensure the pellet is ahead of the transfer port.
It winds up being more of a carbine, but the performance is there at 25 pumps. It's proven to be "quite" effective.
Is this pellet gun any good?

It's an easy afternoon's work (play).
A pcp of sorts anyway.
A tube can be fabricated to replace the pump head assembly, which can either be used as a lower pressure (1000psi) chamber, or to allow connection to a bulk tank.

It would be cool, But myself, (and I'm fairly athletic),Gippeto wrote:...It winds up being more of a carbine, but the performance is there at 25 pumps. It's proven to be "quite" effective.
I'd need to rest after 25 pumps.
I'd prefer the already brute 700fps from a single motion and loading to that.
Breathe...exhale...inhale...exhale half way...steady, aim, squeeze, fire...
That's my technique.
How am I going to have a steady shooting platform after 25 Pumps??? 8)

If that wears you out, I don't know what to tell you. It doesn't bother me to have a target session that last an hour or more.
And I suspect I'm a good bit older than you.
You should try driving my tractor (1946 MH-30 GR...strong arm steering) with a full bucket of dirt. My last "session" was 7 hours. (landscaping) That'll put meat on your bones.

Seriously?
Sweet
It depends on the pistol, my HW45 (That's Beeman P1 for you 'merican types ) will strain the arms after an extended session, and that's only one stroke per shot.
I should get a prize for really making the effort at making no attempt at innuendo

That's the one.
Jeese, Jack, don't you have anything better to do??
You ARE good at it though. (Stick with your strengths eh?)
Your restraint is duly noted.

Yes, specifically betamethasone methylorthovalerate, but it's only 8 in the morning here and I've been at work for 3 hours already, I deserve a breakGippeto wrote:Jeese, Jack, don't you have anything better to do?

I meant manufacture the stuff, not apply it heheheh
Recieved my pellet gun in the mail yesterday, pretty fast shipping! It is very well made, very heavy, has grooves for a scope, fully adjustable rear sites, fiber optic front and rear. It also has an auto- engaging saftey. it has a plastic reciever, but it is still sturdy. rear site wiggles a little. very light trigger pull. The thing is a bear to cock. it would be impossible to cock without the barrel extender. I press it against a solid surface to cock it. pulling the barrel down is hard, but pushing it back into place is rather easy. I destroyed a milk jug with it, and have flattend some pellets with it so far.

Reminded me of the guy who put KY jelly in his homemade pressure pump, Then started a thread not to that because it hardened and destroyed his pump..."Don't ask, don't tell" policy came to mind...
That HW 45 (P1) Looks sweet! I'd put some soft rubber finger gooved grips on it, or hardwood similar though myself.
Or (not my style but) pearl w/silver or nickel plated, w/ polished stainless scope?-might look cool.
I meant that after the charging effort, the heart rate increases probably and the shooting platform will be more shaky...course CO2 or PCP's can be inconsistent depending on fill levels...they claim it IS consistent, but I never found that to be the case.
@Gippeto, Nice tractor, My buddy's broke down so we were using his PUSH mower..."Need...that... tractor...!!!"
He's restoring one, I can't understand it, ...Restore a motorcycle, or build a small aircraft instead, But he's always liked tractors... 8)

The P1 takes any grips that fit the M1911, I was flirting with the idea of getting Pachymar style rubber grips and having an adapter made to fit the carbon fibre Airstream silencer from my Mk.3 as in the attached mock-up picture, but at the end of the day I prefer the "classic" look and the red dot sight usually stays off.THUNDERLORD wrote:That HW 45 (P1) Looks sweet!
