The Slingshot Channel Thread
Spudamine, the idea is good, but it does not work without rollers. Stretched rubber will stick to the metal eye like glue, the extension effect does not work.
I have two slingshots that use this idea, but both employ rollers. The "H" and the "V".

I thought that might be a problem, I think I'll go for the simpler solution of just putting the forks forward of the grip, this is after all supposed to be a quick little project. Unfortunately I'm not very good at quick projects, they tend to get out of control
Have done a quick project like that a few days ago, my oVo slingshot.
BTW, the right length to add is 1/5th of your draw length. Rubber stretches to about 550%, and you will need a little bit to grip the pouch. So if you draw out 100cm (39"), then 20 (8") would be the right distance to add to the front. Anything over that is useless, at the end of your draw length the rubber would not be fully extended.
ATTENTION: Using forward extended slingshots with powerful bands require a very good grip, and if possible (legal) a wrist brace. Otherwise, they may turn in your hand and all kinds of accidents can happen.

Thanks for the numbers, always useful to have a few rules when you're getting started in something. I hadn't thought about the turning, could be nasty but it's ok she will be braced.
I have to confess I'd already seen your oVo, its what gave me the idea

I think some members here are glad you said empty! Nice work. Man how fun is it to drink champagne for the purpose of shooting the bottles . Nice slowmo but what camera did you use for that?
Yeah, it's that important.

I knew it. It seems like everyone has the Casio EX F1. I wish i could afford one.JoergS wrote:My Casio EX F1 Pro for the slomos, and a cheap Panasonic HD 5 (AVCHD) camera (SD card) for the regular video.

That's one badass slingshot.
The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.
Take a look at the Casio EX-FC100... much, much cheaper, and still does 1000fps (quality is a little lower than the F1 though)Mr.Sandman wrote: I knew it. It seems like everyone has the Casio EX F1. I wish i could afford one.
I wonder how much deeper the ocean would be without sponges.
Right now I'm having amnesia and deja vu at the same time. I think I've forgotten this before.

Hello,
I wanted to take my "W" concept one step further and construct a slingshot that protects your fingers from nasty slaps.
The idea: To use steel rods that are not strong enough for a power slingshot, and form a grid that stabilizes the device.
It worked!
It shoots fantastic. My favourite right now!
Since it works so well, we have election day in our state (North Rhine Westfalia) and the German eight rowing team won the World Championship, I chose our national colors black, red and gold (OK, yellow).
