Have spent many hours this WE to design and make a slingshot based dart arrow launcher.

It works! Had to shorten it, but it shoots a dart arrow with tremendous force.

Too rainy for a vid, but here are some pics.

Does the dart stay in the handle when you draw the bands back?

The dart actually draws back with the bolt. I drilled a hole in the bolt so it would juuust stick in, nicely centered.

Damage pictures... when I shoot this with full force, the dart goes into a wooden plank to the hilt, and snaps off in 50% of the cases! Probably a little too strong.

The parts for the next set of additions arrived. The tactical light is just amazing, it is so bright that you can easily blind an attacker!

So next weekend, I will make a "worseass" slingshot...

Because if you miss, then the attacker can fetch the weapon. And then he may blind you, shoot a ball at you, then spray mace in your face, stun you with electric shocks and finally stab you, twice.

Highly unlikely, if you hit the wall behind him it will be embedded so deeply it will be impossible to pull out, or if there's nothing as a backstop it will fly into low earth orbit  :D

A strong slingshot.

Two automatic knifes.

Tear gas spray.

A tactical light that blinds attackers and illuminates the defense zone.

And a stun gun.

Finished it! Works great. And all the tools are still inside of the frame, very compact.

Very cool, but I think you should just attach a katana to your vertical slingshot you made.
