I'm looking for a large-ish valve to toss a ~1 lb. 2" diameter paint grenade a reasonable distance.
Some of the requirements for this valve are:
-Under $150 a piece with good availability (I need several)
-Prebuilt
-Metal construction (for durability, peace of mind, and ability to use in cold weather)
-Minimum 150psi pressure rating
-Porting that is larger than 1" (1.5" would be great)
-Reasonably light weight (not necessary though)
-No mechanical or electronic actuation. Pneumatic only.
The valves will be used on special "mortars" designed for private scenario paintball and airsoft games. (Nothing will be fired at people, of course.) The application calls for something slightly larger than the typical 3/4" QEV as our paint grenades are much bigger and heavier than usual.
Any help with my search is much appreciated. Thanks!

I bought a couple 1.5" Asco QEVs on eBay a while back for some cannons. They tend to show up fairly often. I looked just now and it doesn't seem that any are up for sale, but keep searching for "asco valve" and filter through everything that comes up manually so you don't miss something that someone titled stupidly.

hmm...IDK... what about ASCO valves ?
ohh AFAIK 3/4" is not the largest size of a QEV.. there are also 1" QEVs, but they are pretty rare

Oh wow I forgot all about those ASCO valves! I regret not buying one back when that guy had loads of them listed on eBay. They would be perfect. Do you have any you want to sell?
Unfortunately I do not, but I'll keep an eye out for em.

I appreciate it. Thanks!
I have an Asco 12 volt valve available that could be converted to pneumatic control. If I recall without looking its 1 1/4" maybe 1" at the smallest. It you ask me though you may be going into more trouble then you need. I launch 8oz paint grenades with the RPG shown below over 200' at angles of less the 15 degrees and 16oz flour powered rockets 600' with vertical heights over 440'. It only uses a 1/2" port piston and costs less the $100 to build and has 3 barrels ranging from 1" to 2 1/2". If you want the Asco I'll get it out and send you the info. It came off a natural gas generator I replaced some years back.
