The Slingshot Channel Thread
You can draw it quickly, but you should add a spring system to lock it, as you can't use it when it isn't bolted down yet.
It looks cool though.

Look at 1:15 in the video. Would you stick around to see if it was locked after that? I know some of the more reckless sorts might, but I imagine this project is more for entertainment than for defence utility.I'm not sure I get the point. It doesn't lock in anything that resembles a short period of time, so how is this an improvement over a traditional folding/locking knife (or are those illegal in Germany too?)?
Nice clean design Joerg. How robust is the locking mechanism after it's fully tightened?

you could always use a blade to deflect bullets
Nice design, i think you need to get your movement down though.

Would a pull-pin be a legal improvement to a screw? Like psycix said.
Not that I'm apt to deduce combat scenarios, but it does seem a screw is quite a slow mechanism. And from what I can tell the speed of this mechanism isn't factored, just that it must require two hands.
BTW, fan of your obvious craftsmanship, appreciate that you keep us posted with new videos. Must say I won't register for your site though, it is a matter of something I call registration sprawl on the internet.

Well if you were in a gun fight, an auto-locking blade wouldn't do you much good, would it?Never bring a knife to a gun fight.
