preloaded pneumatic cartridge
LOL personally I love the traailers with ain't no rest for the wicked as the dog- If you go on the official game site you'll be able to watch those.
Highly recommend at least renting the game it's loads of fun.
Thanks for the link too.
Bollocks I forgot to input zero for the chamber fan... No it will not have a chamber fan hahaha
Yes 3/4" marbles, as well as some form of buckshot load- BBs.
I'll have to glue this up when I get home

I'm gonna get that beto shock pump... its about 40$ here and goes up to 30 bar.
You know those 1'' to 1/2'' reducers that got both thread sizes on the inside?
Well I'm gonna try to thread the 1/2'' pipe in the opposite way and the 1'' over it. In the end goes an end cap, schrader and a piston. Not sure about the details but I'm hoping its gonna work.

You've got me thinking about combustion cartridges again, no doubt there's enough recoil to cycle the action andit would probably push buckshot (say 5-10 BBs) in a paper sabot out at reasonable velocity, hmmm... it would be an unrealistically massive launcher, but maybe that's not a bad thing. A hideously deformed AA-12, I might warm up to thatJDP12 wrote:Yes 3/4" marbles, as well as some form of buckshot load- BBs
That's the one I have and I love it to bits, the one I linked to is basically exactly the same design with a different brand name.I'm gonna get that beto shock pump... its about 40$ here and goes up to 30 bar.

Either its counterfeited cause it does look very similar and its low priced for such high pressures it can reach. Or its very low quality and I could probably throw it away after one day pumpingjackssmirkingrevenge wrote: That's the one I have and I love it to bits, the one I linked to is basically exactly the same design with a different brand name.
I mean that thing is too cheap to be true. I felt that "Poor man pays twice" on my skin once and I'm smart enough not to do it again.
Well I am gonna test using 1" pvc first, then if it's successfull use aluminum or brass tubing to cut down on the OD.
It wouldn't be a whole lot bigger than a 12 ga cartridge, especially if it was the correct 3.5" length. Would probably only be .25" larger diamter wise.
EDIT: UPDATE: went to glue up my rough PVC prototype only to find my PVC cement is in a large solid chunk, frozen thanks to the cold...
So it's thawing out and will be glued up tomorrow. If it works, I will start a new thread and pursue it using Alu or brass tubing....
Can't wait to see your new cart JSR- when will it be done??

I understand your concern, with eBay I find that the prices are frequently driven down by the economies of scale as opposed to poor quality but still $40 isn't much for a good shock pump. You might want to modify it slightly, a lot more comfortable for charging larger chambers.FighterAce wrote:Either its counterfeited cause it does look very similar and its low priced for such high pressures it can reach. I was thinking of thin walled 40mm PVC for the cartridge body, light weight is a factor if you're going to be throwing it around, that would be around 1.45 inches internal diameter, it could be 5-6 inches long, like one of the larger 40mm grenade rounds.
For now though I have the pneumatic cartridge and breech baking away at 60ºC so later this afternoon I can finally test it at high pressure and see if it blows back. If not, I'll probably give pneumatics a rest and do a bit of fuel/air fiddling

Update on the latest cartridge, results were less than spectacular - but I'm sure it's because of the cartridge, most of the air seems to be coming out of the pilot. I'm shelving this for now, I'll get back to it eventually (let's face it, this thread is almost 3 years old ) but I'm going to give combustion cartridges a go in the meantime.

There might yet be hope, I had a couple of free minutes after putting together the combustion cartridge and breech/barrel We'll see how it goes.

Nothing special, I just extended the piston tube past the breech end of the "barrel" so that it's fully enclosed.JDP12 wrote:ah...well whats the newest pneu design?

If you're going to go with the complication of a burst disk, might as well use it as the main valve.
