if you have had a embarrassing moment in spud gunning like gluing your self to the chamber or the cleanout cap back fires pleas post

well in my first combustion (made from a glue stick and some ally tube back when i was 15 or so..) my first attempt was a successful dryfire. my second attempt trying to fire a pin resulted in the lid of the glue stick flying off and hitting me on the face... how embarrassing...

there has also been a time when i was waiting for some glue to dry, decided i was going to play some computer, and gluing my self to the mouse...

what about you guys??

when i first got my frigde compressor filled my gun to 300psi and the hose blowup firing the gun and shot a lead sinker at he wall of my shed

but now i have 5000psi hydraulic hoses. live and learn

Needed to look down range first. I didn't think much of the van parked 20 feet away. What could a marshmallow possibly do?

I expected more, JSR

1) My first pneumatic cannon, consisted of a single fire extinguisher as a chamber, flew off at 100PSI when I used some plastic shallow-threaded fitting from the fire extinguisher valve.

2) With my hybrid cannon, I shot a .303 projectile through 4" or so of solid pine and through my big garage door. I had done previous tests where the .303 only penetrated an inch in to the pine, turns out this time I had made a decent sabot. At least the car wasn't on the other side of the garage door, usually it is.

Of course there are more for example the first time I fired this thing, I didn't expect the piston to move back with much force so there wasn't a piston buffer, I was aiming down the barrel and about to fire when the phone rang, so I lowered the muzzle to the ground and shot it. The piston flew back into my chest with enough force to break the skin and leave a substantial bruise. Were it not for that call, it would have gone straight into my eye

Oh back in the days of my first piston cannon, I didn't expect the cannon to be so powerful. I had a huge roll of carpet at one end of my garden which I aimed at with my golfball gun, I missed. It hit the fence and flew on to the neighbours roof.

'Nother time but with the VAL, I was shooting a 32" or so CRT TV with a golfball at about 40PSI (thinking it was enough), the golfball rebounded and flew over my head for a good hundred meters but the TV screen had imploded.

I had a pneumatic that after months of successful fireing, the entire 4 inch reducer onthe back blew out... Along with some fittings, a guage, and a ball valve... It blew the cannon out of my hands and the reducer 120' away, almost hitting my neighbors house...

Yep my first had a huge 6" DWV endcap with BBQ igniter stuck through it, lasted maybe 50 shots then exploded straight back into my face, split lip and bloody knuckles.

Not something to joke about really.
There was an incident where one individual was killed when a back-firing clean-out cap hit them in the chest, triggering Commotio Cordis. He died as a result.

It's one thing to discuss this kind of thing from a sensible perspective, but the idea of discussing such potentially dangerous events with LOL smilies and "OMG too funny" posts really doesn't sit well with me at all.

Or a rough translation: "A object's velocity and direction of travel will remain constant unless acted upon by a unbalanced force".

Is that what you mean, or did you mean to reference Newton's 3rd law?

I had a ricochet almost penetrate my wall, shot a tile to pieces on the floor when piston valve failed, almost got hit in the head by a golf ball ricochet and forgot to close a ball valve before filling a pneumatic with air.
