semi design
i will NOT be using a DCV 3 way valve but instead i will be using a T and a 1 way valve/40psi regulator to keep the pilot chamber seperate from the main chamber. this design is based of the theory that theory that the larger main chamber will fill slower than the pilot chamber and take longer to equalize. also i know there is a lot of dead space between the ammo and the begining of the barrel so that will limit the power but this is just a design.

I am afraid that 1 way valves don't exist
also... read my sig
your design won't work (eventhough I don't understand everything in it)
try to be a little bit more specific... and add more pics or an animation

Is the black square the regulator? I think it will work as long as the pilot side pressurizes first except for the ammo loading part. I think the clip needs to be blocked when the piston is back, not when it is forward.

The air going behind the piston and in front of the piston would cancel each other out and lock the piston in place.
That is all.

yeah... anyway this design won't work but there are tons of designs that work well... be the first to build the valveless launcher

Didn't jsr make one already
That is all.
im really sorry cause i did this during english class and i didnt have time to do a proper drawing. i forgot to draw the pilot valve and label things and the balck square is a 1 way valve that seperates the two chambers.

I beg to differ my friend.POLAND_SPUD wrote:I am afraid that 1 way valves don't exist

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Check_valve
A check valve, clack valve, non-return valve or one-way valve is a mechanical device, a valve, which normally allows fluid (liquid or gas) to flow through it in only one direction.

clemonsguy, thats exactly how a normal piston valve works....
I think it is slightly possible that this could work but it would be far more finiky and difficult to build than a simple and cheap dcv gun.

well I was referring specifically to the fact that some people consider BVs to be 1 way valves - and yeah I admit that you are right (to some extend)
if you read the first post you'll see that there is no info about the piloting valve so I assumed that he meant the BV when he used the term 1 way valve (though not all check valves are 1 way valves... and not all regs would work as a one way valve...
also not all 2 and 3 way way valves allow flow in both/all directions so while the term 'one way valve' is in use it really isn't the best way to refer to the check valve... if you insist I can explain it in more detail)
anyway even the pic is incomplete...
yeah I know I should have been a bit more patient but it is frustrating when people write posts like this and then you have to ask for clarification and/or write a lengthy response explaining in detail why something won't work
anyway... jor2daje is right that the design is exactly how a normal piston valves work...
it took me a while to realize what the guy wanted to say... and I admit that it will work... but still - it won't work without a 3 way valve
He still needs a valve that can first fill the gun and then vent the pilot side - that requires a 3 way

yer the ammo thing wont work the hole point its to have it blocked when air goes past

I think polandspud is right again, without a dcv airfrom you compressor will be reffilling the pilot area as you try to vent it. So without a dcv you run into the same problem everyother almost semi out there has.Just like discussed here http://www.spudfiles.com/forums/viewtop ... 604#288604

I understand piston valves, I just didnt see a pilot
