Just dropping by to inspire fellow spudders with this newly built QEV gun.
Hope you will enjoy it.

Info

1/2" QEV.
Pilot valve: modified blowgun (original didn`t take pressure over ~10 bar, and too low airflow).
.50" barrel, 57cm long (22 inch).
Wooden stock with adjustable length.
Scope is a cheap 3~9X40 GD from Dealextreme.
Pump: fork-pump that can handle 450psi/31bar.
Operating pressure: I actually dont know myself because the manometer on the fork-pump is somewhat... bad. When my compressor shows 9 bar, this show about 5 bar :? . But I take it too ~10 bar, so maybe 15 bar`ich?
It is probably calibrated to show accurate measurements @ 30 bar.

The gun is easily taken apart without tools for transportation etc.

Next project will be a semi-auto bullpup design with a 1/2" T-valve actuated by a electromagnet (coil + magnetic piston). But it will probably take a while to build, if I ever complete it... Well, that is another story.

Peace :)

God dammit... Sleeved it, just need some paint!

Almost finished, did this one in a hurry. The rear of the stock feels kind of... naked (and fat :S ), and needs to be remade. The grip also need some grip-tape. And of course, the sleeve need some paint too. Buuuuut, this gun is so darn fun to shoot with so I dont have time to do these adjustments :) .

Very nicely put together, in a quaint sort of way :) must take a bit of effort to get it up to pressure though as the chamber seems relatively large, you would have been better off with a smaller chamber and higher pressure.

The stock is particularly well finished, what wood is it?

You might want to try sleeving the barrel as suggested here, it would look less skinny plus you'd have the benefit of an integral silencer ;)

Aaa forget, the chamber is about 110cc. Yeah it take 200 pumps to ~15 bar (bad manometer...). The problem is that I am a coward, the QEV`s max pressure is 12 bar, and I have no idea how much punishment it can take... So I am on the safe side ;).

If you're going to increase the pressure, you'll need the extra suppression ;)

hey that looks cool

this is offtopic but i just dont want to make a new topic out of this: if i had a barrel sealing piston valve with spring behind the piston, would it be semi-automatic if i pilot it with small qev? if so, do the small qev need to have a spring?
