but I'm as confused as Poland spud on why you made a ball valve, I have trouble seeing why you would say it's the best valve,
I suppose I might have a natural bias against ball valves, but I still don't see why,
Imao ball valves are almost just never the best for a actuated valve, maybe if you had to use a motor because that would make good use of the rotational movement but you're using an air cylinder so wouldn't a valve that utilized a linear movement be better I would have done something like this or [http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c328/ ... ample1.png]this[/url]
did you try a input sealing piston setup they're supposed to not have the same delay problems

Holy shit, man. That is just about the most impressive cannon I have ever seen.

With high-quality cannons, it has always been a comprimise between rate of fire and power. Larda made the first 200X capable hybrid. One shot at a time, but what a shot it is. Especially with the tungsten-cored penetrator APFSDS rounds he made. Almost more beautiful than the hybrid that shoots them. Solar made the best repeating/automatic cannons, with the Eclipse and his magazine-fed follow on. But the Eclipse was a low-power LTL/Paintball gun (with a few examples sold to the USAF). This, is more impressive in the technical feat that is presents than in the beauty of the workmanship. If you machined all the parts on manual tools, then great work. Not to say that is isn't as great if machined with CNC, but whatever comes out of a computer controlled mill will look fantastic. You have managed to create the first high power repeating cannon.

Let's se what kind of trajectory and groupings you can get at 50 yard and 100 yard ranges. 100 feet is quite impressive, but it is still only the length of two commercial trailers. And that ammo looks like it could go a long, LONG way.

The gun has 360 degree horizontal swing and about 75 degrees vertical swing. The gun itself weighs about 290lbs. it's balanced and mounted on large radial bearings so it's virtually weightless.
