Would a 50 yard green-laser dotted melon shot at 3x be impressive? I could possibly manage that.

The sureshot rounds are spot on at greater distances than that. This could be good.

I'm going to buy a high speed camera but I don't think I'll have it in time for the contest. Looks like I'll have to settle for 30 frames per second :?

Maybe Velocity 3X can chime in here and give us predictions with the NITRON maxed out... I think it can handle 2Kpsi.
