A few.
I'm told some are because I used "Last of the Wilds" as the backing music for the HEAL video. That's also the reason the video's no longer on Youtube, because of copyright issues.
So what do you think of Anette?
Tarja was great, but it obviously wasn't still working, so there's no point in sitting around whining about the change.
If you prefer Tarja's stuff, listen to that. If you're going to sit around listening to Dark Passion Play and saying it would have been better if Tarja had sung it, you're wasting your time - that was never going to happen.
Both are good singers - different, but there's not a problem with that.
It does mean Nightwish have moved from operatic metal, but it's not like we should expect every single Nightwish song to be exactly the same. Compare "Angels fall first" and "Know why the Nightingale sings" - so totally different in style that you could be forgiven for not realising they're by the same band, but they're on the same album!
Both have sung things that I like. As for who is better - while Dark Passion Play was a good album, one album is not enough for me to make any particular conclusions about whose singing I prefer.
There's some of the older songs which live performances have shown Anette is not as strong on, but to be entirely fair, those were written for Tarja, so anyone else was always going to be less ideal for singing them.
I have no doubts there are things which will be written for Anette which Tarja would have been less suitable for - but we won't know about those.
Feelings may be mixed towards Anette, but I'd say look at the earlier Sami/Marco changeover, also driven by the member's attitudes.
Many will say that was the death of the band... I disagree. With the way things were, the band couldn't have continued as it was.
In a choice between a slightly different Nightwish and no Nightwish, I'll take the former please (if it's not to my liking, I'll just ignore it and listen to old albums). Anyway, I like Marco's singing.
