If they show up, it's because someone called them.

If you don't make a nuisance of yourself, you have nothing to fear. Respect your neighbours and their property and they are unlikely to call law enforcement.

In the same vein, it'd take a pretty thick person to think a spudgun is a rocket launcher or a conventional firearm of any sort.

I respect my neighbours and thier property, the problem is that I also have neighbours who call the cops if people start to annoy them... What I am trying to say is, let the local law enforcement know what you have, and let them see it is a recreational item, not a actual gun.

sae, I have neighbours who would think that....

I would do that same thing as if it was a real gun, drop it and listen to every word the guys with guns say

Not the best example of spudgun safety...

Respect your neighbours and their property and they are unlikely to call law enforcement.
In the same vein, it'd take a pretty thick person to think a spudgun is a rocket launcher or a conventional firearm of any sort.
And then there's the disturbingly large group of people who combine total ignorance of the world around them with raw hostility to everyone different from them, thus stepping neatly around both of your points. These were the ones that got me. When we immerse ourselves in communities of like-minded folk, we have this nasty tendency to lose touch with just how impressively "thick" and malevolent many people are.

Another good way of avoiding attention, have a firearms license if you're in a rural or semi-rural area. It's perfectly legal to use firearms in such an area.

Or you can be really lucky like I am, I live next to a vineyard, they have bird scaring guns going all the time. Loud bangs are a given in farming areas.

As SB15 said, having a conventional launcher around doesn't hurt, the police I've met rather like spudguns, so if you're responsible they'll just tell you to be careful.

Also, why does the spellcheck dislike "spudgun", I thought that would be the first thing changed?

Sooo.. i havent been on here in like.. i dont even know how long. I'm SO glad to see the site still exists.. and I KNEW this would be the place to turn to about this episode of House M.D.

a couple of my friends called me and told me to watch the episode because it involved spudguns, but I never expected to see a BL-520 or hear talk about combustion and Schedule 80 PVC.

Aside from Thirteen returning finally, this episode made my day.

I'm so glad there's still an active community of spudgun enthusiasts like me out there. And glad to see PCGUY is still keeping this place up.

if any of you remember me from Spudtech, I still have "Eleanor" and i have a clear chambered over/under now as well, but sadly they only come out to play on July 4th any more.

Great to see UltimateSpudGun get some air time on a large network. too bad only us potato geeks know it's a BL-520.

Well, I'll probably poke in from time to time. Weather is warming up around here and I finally have a rather stable source of income, so a penumatic looks to be in my future (never built one yet, always wanted to)

Take Care All,

Darth.

Wow Darth, welcome to Spudfiles. I had posted my Dragon on that old site. I like you have not built both kinds of launchers. I've never built a combustion. I may one of these days.

Yeah, but your loving pictures are all dead links!

Perhaps another topic posted here on Spudfiles? I did the same with a couple of old combustions I had that had broken image links in the archive.
