Obama: Nationalized healthcare; so did Hitler.
Obama: Nationalized the banks, so did Hitler.
Obama: Nationalized the car cos, so did Hitler
Obama: Seeking to ‘reform’ education, same as Hitler. What more do you liberal Jews need? For Obama to send you to the gas chambers here in America before you wake up?
wow but seriously, WTF ?
I guess this suits this perfectly

So what happened that made everyone dislike Obama all of a sudden?
Wasn't long ago everyone was happy about Obama being in and now everyone is hating him?
Obama seems better than Bush, trying to pull out of the Middle East. I can see why America would want to stay in the Middle East though, if they withdraw they'll have thousands and thousands of unemployed, billions tied up in equipment that only gets used during training exercises and contracts for American companies expiring as there is no longer a need to manufacture ammo, weapons, vehicles, missiles, planes on such a large scale etc.
You guys should be going to space, not Iraq.

I think there were two main categories of people happy that Obama was elected:MrCrowley wrote:So what happened that made everyone dislike Obama all of a sudden?

- those who were under the delusion that there would be some sort of genuine change in their day-to-day lives as a result of his election
- those who were embarrased by Bush because of his standing with the international community
All the hype was bound to lead to disappointment.

Obama's an easy target to blame. Could he be doing a lot better?
Yes. But he's got a lot working against him, and I really don't see how McCain would have done any better.
The war creates jobs, but ultimately most of the resources produced are being spent on stabilizing areas in the warzone or elsewhere, not us. The only obvious benefits I can think of are the tech advancements we end up with...
Increased "national security" is a double-edged sword.
I have a more stable job now than when bush was in office, but that doesn't mean it's JUST because the economy is better, it's because I took the initiative to find a more stable job! The majority of the population probably want everything to get better with no energy expenditure on their part, which, as far as I know, is also the attitude of most politicians regardless of party affiliation. So in the end, who does the work?

The war time jobs and the economics of the Cash for Clunkers to produce jobs is best covered by the Parable of the broken window.Fnord wrote:The war creates jobs, but ultimately most of the resources produced are being spent on stabilizing areas in the warzone or elsewhere, not us.

Those who produce increase the wealth. Those who redistribute wealth tear down wealth and send production jobs elsewhere. Making everyone pay their fair share is not the same as everyone plowing their own field.
One results in a plundered field and low incentive for the farmer to replant next year so everyone is equally poor. The other is everyone having a rich harvest.
I cringe when the liberals spout off about everyone paying their fair share. This is often said by those living off the plunder.
