Keeping Up with the Kardashians? What the h*ll is this? I woke up at 3:00am, turned on the "Electronic Box of Truth" to catch some news and all the channels seem to be plagued with promos for
"Keeping Up with the Kardashians"
Who are these people and what do they do? What did they do to become famous and rich? What skills or talents do they posess? It's totally mind numbing! How much father can society slip!?

My guess is that just about everybody knows who / what these people do / did.

Without doing a Goggle search, I wonder how many know who Dr. Jonas Salk was? No....he didn't invent the computer keyboard, but he is the reason that earths human inhabitance can sit upright in their chairs when typing. People like that deserve the money and fame!

Sad as it is, it's simply what happens when you cater for women in the media. Long gone are the days when you actually had to do something of importance to be famous. Another facet of the long lamented "pussyfication" of Western society.

Believe me when I say that my criticism of western society has ALWAYS been much more harsh than saying "Pussyfication", but I took comments like that coming from outside the U.S. as a disguised insult rather than an accurate observation from a distant observer. I know when used by some, it's meant to be a disguised insult, but your wording:

I'm actually slightly offended myself now as a proud European, I am technically part of the Western society I am criticising! It's not just the states y'know, according to wikipedia the Western world includes the countries of the Americas, as well all countries of Western and Central Europe, Baltic states and Croatia, Australia and New Zealand

Yes. Certainly no offence intended. In the past, I've viewed comments like that as being leveled primarily at the U.S. The U.S. has a very bad rep around the world and rightfully so, but it's not all of us. It's only 50% of us and 100% of our officials. Again...no offence intended. We are ALL in trouble!
