That's what I used to say, I didn't even notice the change from "beer tastes like crap" to "I prefer a sweet pilsner over a dark draft". It just happens.
Whiskey on the other hand, definitely an acquired taste. Drink lots of bourbon and cola's with decreasing amounts of cola (and brain cells ) each time.

This, however, is delicious.
Both of you. GET OUT NOW.Gun Freak wrote:Beer is nasty So are wine and whiskey
I like me a good root beer though.
I liked the taste of beer from when I was 3, I believe Poland_Spud was christened in it.
Also, ginger beer? I'll accept you if you like ginger wine. Alcoholic though.

Jamaican Ginger Beer is great. It is hard to find here though.
I personally like beer, even though I'm underage. I don't think it tastes particularly good after drinking much, but it's a lot of fun to taste and sample. I lean more towards dark lagers. Most American beer sucks, tastes like slightly wheaty water.
Saefroch, try stout. Everything tastes like wheaty water. But I never drink to become intoxicated, if you like a drink(non-alcoholic) , would you sit down and drink a dozen?
Regarding ginger beer, I'll admit I overreacted, it's good, but ginger wine outclasses it by far.
I don't promote underage drinking, my advice to saefroch is for when he's of legal age.

I haven't drunk enough stout to make many conclusions about whether I like it or not. I do find Guinness tastes a bit like coffee (perhaps I was just drunk?) though It wasn't as bad tasting as I had been led to believe.
I've only actually drank beer a few times, but I can put together a pretty good picture of what it will taste like from the smell (there are a few flavours missing in the smell ) There's a tavern near my house that has something they just call "onyx" that's incredible. They brew on-site, so I don't think you could find the same anywhere else, but when we go there it's like aroma therapy :p.
I encountered a porter (like stout) once before, but I think it had too much bite for me (not sure if that's how you say it).

Very true, part of growing up
That's just an arbitrary mark, just look at the variety around the world - makes the US seem rather harsh by comparison.saefroch wrote:I personally like beer, even though I'm underage.

I'm more Jack myself
Vodka, I have a taste for Zubrowka.
And I really like Akvavit, when I can find some.
I also love Mirabelle spirit, and Cognac. I still have a few Cognac bottles from the 60s... still tasty! People that say alcohol can't be good that old are just jealous!
And I drink wine too of course, can't deny my French origins... but here in Quebec wine is so awful (compare to France) and so expensive that I almost completely quit buying it. I drink Porto wine instead. Lovely with cheese BTW, if you pick a young and not too sweet kind.
I'm quite resilient to alcohol. Drinking beer, my bladder will explode before I even start smiling . But I do like it, white beer in particular, and I always have weiss beer when I visit Germany...
The only thing that get me drunk (quickly I mean) is Rhum... I love it, but I can't remember what I do after, and that always end with a terrible, terrible hangover...

I HAZ A BANG!
£200 worth of hard drives arrived today. 6TB over three drives.
I have 2TB already, I use 500GB, another 500GB is a backup of the first 500GB and the last 1TB is empty space.
Aside from keeping the COG of the case very low and increasing noise and power consumption slightly I reckon this is the least useful hardware purchase so far

So apparently, if I stand in the plumbing aisle browsing for more than five minutes, the store gets suspicious and they have to report you to the bomb squad. Really America. Really?!? I had this guy watching me browse through the store for parts I needed. Finally just broke down and bought some neoprene washers and left.
Edit: What's REALLY funny is that this guy tried to tell me how to make certain compounds that are not legal in the states RIGHT in front of the manager of the store.
