long range ammo MiniBoy Mark I
Some sort of sound emitting device would be good, although if its a windy day...
As long as you have a rough estimate of the flight time, doesn't really matter how the smoke is triggered, in fact you want it to last long enough for
you to get nearer the estimated impact zone.
Even a simple fuse would do, although you'd want a way to easily abort if required

I agree that cake mix is probably not going to last long enough to be significant...

Saefroch could get about a 35s burn time from one of his cakes and total flight time of the projectile would probably be around 25s give or take. With a spotter about 1km away from the estimated target zone but at a much higher elevation, I'm sure they could narrow down the zone to about 100m^2 at the least.jackssmirkingrevenge wrote:I agree that cake mix is probably not going to last long enough to be significant...
A fuse sounds like a good idea but how do you go about igniting it? I can't have a 1.8m fuse coming out of the barrel and I wouldn't trust the fuse igniting/staying intact if I drilled a hole through the sabot, poked the fuse through and hope flame front would ignite it. Unless there is some other way?

Not widely sold yet it seems... would be pretty handy though.
http://insigniaproducts.com/products/ca ... KDTR2.html
Does all seem a little dodgy for some reason...
Cheap ones available on Ebay.
Surely something could be made with a 555 IC timer, could even use SMD components, to discharge a capacitor ?

possibly this http://www.ebay.com/itm/Smallest-Spy-Li ... 0654552292 and how do you put urls where you rename it to something like "link"MrCrowley wrote:Unfortunately, it's much too big to fit inside MiniBoy and I don't think the circuit has much room to be cut down to fit.
Even if you get rid of the threaded rod and glue everything together?MrCrowley wrote:Still too big (I can tell even without having seen the circuit).
To fit in the MiniBoy it can't be wider than 14mm.
