I don't have a pic, a link os possible but not sure if it has English. So the 800 one can't be regulated to 400, but the 400 one can be regulated to 800?

Tech, you're right, glowplug engine fuel won't work well, but pure nitromethane is another matter entirely. It will work, too well. Your air rifle will become many little projectiles.

Accuracy will go down however.

Nitromethane is fascinating when mixed with NH4NO3 too. [/list]

wyz,

The ninja reg started off at 850psi. With the correct springs and shims, it can go either up...or down.

Let's have the link eh?

Re-ranging either one should be entirely do-able. :)

What pressure were you looking to get out of it?

For pressures above 800psi, you'll need to find a source of belleville washers and shims ~.005"-.020" thickness that will fit in the reg housing. I got my bellevilles from Fastenal...shims are Ninja items. Not sure what's available in Portugal? Will measure them tonight if you'd like?

Might be a rebuild kit available from the manufacturer as well that contains some of the parts required.

Will post a pic of my test rig later...simple and inexpensive.

I´m not decided about the pressure :? with 800 psi I would have a semi/full auto bbs gun with supersonic muzzel velocity and I can use lead/steel bbs, but too powerful for my original purpose. With 400 psi I would get a great airsoft gun, but when it fires lead bbs...

Sorry if I missed something but couldn't you use either one for either pressure? That way you can use higher pressure when you want to shoot lead and lower it to shoot BBs. Is it a lot of work to change the output pressure?

Not a lot of work..vent the bottle COMPLETELY..the bonnet is threaded on...remove a grub screw, thread it off.

Sensing piston usually comes out with the bonnet. Change the spring/belleville/shim stacks and re-assemble.

Attach to test rig, start filling bottle...watch gauge on test rig....if gauge stops moving, or gets close to burst disk rating...stop, vent bottle completely...make another adjustment...re-test. When the gauge stops moving where you want the pressure set...you're done.

Test rig is made from one of these, with an 1/8"npt valve of suitable rating where the hose would attach. Simple, effective...and cheap.

NO.

The test rig will allow you to verify the output pressure of the regulator...which you will alter by changing the springs and shims inside the regulator.

Touché SB, nice advertising too, though you're preaching to the converted here.
