She was Cairn terrier, she had a cancer and her both legs had been operated earlier, so they were stiff and she couldnt run anymore, that caused the little overweight.

Sorry to hear that jake, it's sad to see a loved and previously healthy pet wither away from disease.

Maybe some SMBC will alleviate the mood:

I've had two, and by some strange coincidence they both died close to four years after getting them, first took a bait and the second just keeled over. She was getting deaf a month or so before she died, so I think it was some brain condition.

JSR, those comics are spot on, but I'll take offence to the cat one somewhat, my cat doesn't play with rodents, she kills rabbits and eats them. The whole rabbit except the back legs and tail.

She leaves those around the place for us to graw on, or as bait for owls, which she tries unsuccessfully to catch. Only because I jump her before she gets them of course.

A rather odd cat really.

I've got a cat, but ever since he got fixed he really mellowed out (he was already pretty mellow to begin with). His hunting ability is limited to bugs and lizards 99% of the time (once he caught a little garter snake), and he doesn't bother killing what he catches. He just plays with it until he gets bored or it gets away. We're always joking about how he's a dog in disguise because he chases his tail, drinks from the toilet, and loves belly rubs.

No. That's just a cat that's in touch with it's roots. That's what cats do in the "wild". Cats are very intelligent hunters. Very intelligent.

I've read farming books from the thirties that suggest keeping a cat around the garden to keep rabbits out. She rarely comes inside now, but follows me around the paddocks like a dog, and is affectionate as ever.

She's odd because such behaviour is rare amongst domestic cats nowdays.

She's also figured out all the doors, and can almost undo the bolt on my work shed, but she can't quite bodyslam it like I can. (Chipboard floor swelled up from the rain last summer, and the door dropped a bit.)

Also, just a I'vebeenheretoolong tip, when quoting, it's

I keep screwing up when actually type a quote out. I'll fix it. That is true though. Domestic cats are too nurtured to develop any real instincts these days. I had a cat who actually would fight and win against most of the neighborhood dogs (no joke!). Most cats would climb a tree in fear unless they were raised with dogs outdoors like mine.

They weren't reloads, yes. But were they handloads?

HA so the glock pictures definitely described what would happen with you and a pistol.
