Here's my copper QEV cannon, nothing new but I'm pleased with it.

Some specs:

Barrel: 1.2m long 22mm copper
Main valve: 1/2" QEV
Pilot: 1/2" ball valve
Fill valve: 1/4" quick connect, male
Chamber: Small oxygen tank (don't know what volume)

Damage pictures:

3mm aluminium sheet, nearly penetrated

1/2" MDF, straight through.

Anything else you want to know, just ask.
Hope you like it

Update:

This is the ammunition that I'm using at the moment

Image

The washers still need machined down to fit the barrel.

Nail dart

And another machined projectile.

Update:

Now added breech loading.

That one's blurry and it makes the breech look bent, it's not really.

Well, looks like the urls are too long, the text formatting stuffs them up. Try posting them as links or uploading them to the forum instead of using an image host.

Make sure you're using the image option when copying and pasting rather than just the url option.

Yeah, I was considering using the air tank for a hybrid, it's rated to 2800psi
Constructive criticism is appreciated.

Don´t know what you want, but that tank is to big for the 1/2 qev.
also the ball valve pilot is a overkill for that qev, they can be pilot by a tyre valve you know.

The QEV empties it very fast, it makes a sharp crack when you fire it.
I had a quick connect and a ball valve on hand so I just got the reducer, I know it's a bit overkill but it was the cheapest option and it's pretty ergonomic too.

I would have thought so too but they seem to fly pretty straight, that aluminium plate was shot at from an angle and if you look at the impact it's a perfect imprint of the nose. The nail darts fly dead straight though, great for distance shots :)

Thanks, that's a great compliment coming from you :D

I like it.
Looks like a great "classic" shooter.

Personally, I like using wire-nuts (electrical connectors) for the base of ammo for copper stuff.

They can be used alone, or a bolt added, or even epoxied on end of an arrow. (Yellow or Red "Ideal" brand are my favorites)...

Working on a combustion ,that will be a gift for a buddy,
Has brass barrel that fits red wire-nut, chamber is a chrome/stainless steel drink mixer (for bars), it will have an oak stock, metering valve,
and be bolt-action loading (USING the brass mounts to construct the bolt)...
OH, that's what I forgot to mention: perhaps you could make this one bolt-action??? Just add a sleeve to fit over the barrel, and some sort of lock for the bolt (Pull back ,and press i nto a slot?)...

Cools spuddy, Thanks man!! 8)

Thanks DEATHSTAR, I was thinking of adding a bolt because I don't have a ramrod long enough for this barrel to use with projectiles with a really tight fit. I actually have some spare ABS lying around about the same ID as the OD of the barrel. Might do that tomorrow.
