Very nice :)

As al-xg was saying, a heavier slower projectile might be the ticket. It will be less likely to shatter while still having the sectional density to penetrate.

I have a question, research is difficult because of the language ...

Spudfiles on, there are many who shoot hybrid Mix40 or more? (except larda)

I'd love to see them

Most people seem to have maxed out at 20-30x. Personally I've gone up to 28x maximum, because that's the most you can get using butane/propane at atmospheric pressure.

I'm not aware of anyone currently using over 30X, save for Petitlu (Larda's been preoccupied with a pulse jet powered snowmobile for a while). I'll likely exceed 40X with my testing this summer, but that's all small scale indoor stuff. Mobile Chernobyl is interested in doing a high pressure hybrid, but he's been on about that for years now...

That makes you second to Larda ;)

And that's a thoroughly abused beam you got there :D had you tried the 8mm ball bearing in the sabot?

My next test will be shooting with ball 8mm steel and tungsten rod.
I will try récupurer tungsten:
after passing through the metal rod will go in a plexiglass aquarium!
All filmed at 60fps with a EOS7D

"That makes you second to Larda"
this makes us second to Larda

Is the fin you used for the first shot number 3 from left in this picture?

Image

That might have been too flimsy, I went a bit overboard with the milling... I would believe that it broke up in the barrel.

No, first shot:
second from the left
second shot:
first from the left

EDIT :
The mix was different too, but I think the angle of fire played a lot in the result

Right. Still a bit of a mystery though, from a lower mix I would expect a shallower hole but still not the side-on mark imprinted on the beam from that shot.
