new idea for ignition gaurentee youve never heard of it

Boom! The classic potato gun harnesses the combustion of flammable vapor. Show us your combustion spud gun and discuss fuels, ratios, safety, ignition systems, tools, and more.

ok here is the idea... i have a electric flywsatter that i bought as a joke on vaction, i took it apart and i think that i want to use it to become an ignition source. so i took it apart and rewired it. when it is on and you touch the two wires it makes a loud poping noise. does anyone know how to make it so this spark will jump so it can be used in a gun.and i know it packs plenty of electricty because it hurts like hell when you touch it. if you know anything that could help me give me a holler

When bugs fly into/or when you swat them, it creates a short, and frys the little bug. You probly need a gate switch on the inside of the chamber to make the circute that will create the spark needed to fire the cannon.

so do you think that it would be reliable and it would work, and is it possible to make a spark like that jump? how reliable is the disposable camrea stungun idea??

Me, if i were to make a combustion cannon, i would hire sgort to build me a stungun ignition. Way more powerfull and from what i read around here, way more relieable. I would send drawing of entire cannon so sgort could make it to size if you know what i mean. gotta haveum looken good!

stay with air power. no offense,(basic) combustion guys, but you going to combustion, and giving up power, accuracy, and range is like us evolving back into neanderthals.

I don't mean that you cant build a combustion that shoots far, or accurately, or powerfully, but your average pneumatic can out shoot your average combustion, from what I've heared.

Dude just use a stun gun... Those "fly swatters" are cheap novelty items that don't produce enough voltage to create an open air spark.

Also stun guns are less expensive, you can buy one for $10.95 plus shipping.

In my opinion since I am not concerned about accuracy, I would never go pneumatic. Combustion means blowing up, and I don't know about you, but I like fire, a lot. When I shoot my potato gun at night you can see the flames come out the end, I don't even care how far it goes. Different strokes for different folks.

If a fly goes pop when it touches what do you think will happen to your hand?

Anyways, those things either run on a capacitor or like stunguns, I'm assuming capacitor, in that case it's the same thing as the camera flash technique.

Ironic Moment: The first time I ever saw an electric flyswatter was at a neighborhood picnic........it's annual, it's today, so I first saw one exacttly 1 year ago.
