Nice gun there mate.

Well built and minmal primer stains. Just wondering though: Wht do you have holes in the outer bosy of the supressor. The point is for it to contain the sound, not let it escape through holes in the outer shell.

Removing the bit from the blow gun may be useful, but its a well designed gun.

What is the piston made from BTW, or is it a diaphragm gun?

How big of pipe is the suppressor? Drilling holes a little bigger in the outside pipe will help a little more. Nice gun, try to give it a nice paintjob like on your other gun. Looks the same as the other one.
Good job.

Excuse me???Drilling holes in a suppressor will HELP?????

Didn't you read Maverick's post???

The point is for it to contain the sound, not let it escape through holes in the outer shell.

The way a surpressor works is that it lets the gas (air) that pushes the ammo forward wants to escape. When the ammo leaves the barrel, the gas can to, and does this in every direction, with tremendes force, cause it is pressurized.

The meaning of a silencer is to make a container at the end of a barrel, in wich the gas can escape relativly slowly, so at the end of the baller, the pressure is not that big, and the air kan sort of flow out of the barrel when the ammo leaves it. Because of that, you need to fill the surpressor with cloth of steelwool, so the air dont go out at once.

Drilling holes in the outside of the surpressor, will give a bank when you shoot it. The surpressor will not be that effective.

at the moment i am just experimenting with different suppressor designs for example outer sheels with and without holes in them, differnet sound absorbing material and the density of the material.

its my theory that as the projectile reaches about half way through the suppressor alot of the pressurised air behind it will escape through the holes in the barrel then travel through the sound absorbing material and then exit out the holes in the outer shell. kind of like yelling into a pillow will reduce the sound of your voice, the air waves from your voice still exit the otherside of the pillow but its is very muffled.
anyway its just a theory, any thoughts?

Hmm . Yeah, could work. With an air gun that is. I shouldn't use it on a firearm. Smoke will be all over the place :)

But it might work on an airgun. Try it out and let us know

Even the possession of a silencer is illigale here in Belgium. One for firearms that is.

well iv'e done some test with holes in the outer shell and no holes. basically i've found that holes in the outer shell reduce the sound much more than a outer shell without holes in it. i put as many holes in the barrel as it could handle and enlarged the existing holes in the outershell then i test fired it with a marble at 80psi then i put tape over all the holes in the outer shell and fired it again at 80psi and the sound difference was quite large, it was a loud bang from the taped one and a 'thump' from the one without tape on it.
i recommend having a suppressor with large holes in the outer shell and as many holes in the barrel as it can take, i've made mine so if u plug up the end of the barrel you can still put your mouth on the other end and breath easily through it.

Well Jave, thanks for sorting that out. You proved me wrong there :) Anyway, now we know how to make a good silencer. Got a picture of yours ? Or is it still the same as above ?

The research is worth a donation.

the suppressor looks pretty much the same except the holes on the outer shell are twice as big.
