Recently I have been thinking about paintball grenades/ landmines/ morters/ bazookas, ect. I would like to make some of these. I would like you guys to help with the design. I am looking at powder and liquid marking substance.

I was wondering what would be the best marking substance. Paint would be messy to work with, I didn't try using it. Instead I turned my addension on to flour. So I did some tests. First, earlyer in the day I put some metal fittings together in an over & under design with a ball valve and a piece of metal pipe as the barrel. The ball valve will be spring loaded with tension springs, and a sensitive catch mechanism to trigger it. (pic down the page)
I tested it with flour rammed down the barrel and fired it manually, the trigger is not yet built, the results were ok. It managed to fire flour in a big cloud.

A test I did recently involved my shotgun(yes I found a pump), I filled the barrel with flour, toilet paper behind it all, and fired. At about 40 psi (no pressure gauge). Heres a video of the results.

I will psot designs of the bazooka and mortor later.
I think flour could be used as a harmless marking substance and can be used in landmines. I am not sure about the grenades but you guys post whatever ideas you have.

I have been desgineing a claymore and now I am working on a landmine. The claymre is done in the desgin fase I just have to build it. As for the landmine I was thinkin somethin on the order of a diaphram as a rubber disk and a pushrod. As for the paint thing, I was Craola Non toxic paint mixed with a little water, but for testing try useing some thing like water but mix with some thing to make it heaver for testing. But in the real games use the Crayloa or the special paintball mix. It comes in a powered form and you mix it with warm water. For the gernades I cant come up with a good desgine for them. I do have a desgin for a mortar, breech loading and a sholder fired RPG.

A 203 idea:

For a landmine (for simplicity), a cammo colored ballon filled with paint. Cheap and easy.

Demon, you can colour the flour by adding coloured and powderen chalk. You dont need an awfull lot to colour a pound of flour.

Thanks.

I am trying to think of the best way to disperse the flour a good distance in an adustible direction. Maybe it would be a good idea to make a multifunction cannon. So it can be a RPG(firing paint balloons in a sabot), it can be a mortor, it can be set up as a trap with a tripwire.

I am thinking a combustion cannon but I have never built one.
With a propane regulator you should be able to adjust the power of the cannon by putting marbles in the metering pipe. A getto way of fine tuning the propane amount.

Wow, can you share your designs?

I surtenly did. I downloaded it :)

Yesterday i saw a vid on the net, of a group of young guys, who played some sort of movie to demonstrate their spud gun. Three guys attacked two or three others. These last ones had the spud gun, loaded with flour. It was a very nice flour cloud, very dense, and approximatly 4 to 5 yards long.

Just have been searching the vid, but can't find it back though. I'll upload it so you can see it to. I'll post it here in a few minutes

Edit : Ok, here is is. The first minute is bullshit, but watch the flower fly, man, very nice :)

That movie was ok. It proved that what I want to do is plausable. The music at the end was cool but everything else was corny.

"yawwn", watch this thread, I will post designs and stuff tomorrow.

Ok, I have a really big chamber that I can make a combustion out of, it is all 75mm pipe and fittings and it is pressure rated. I would like to make a combustion out of it. Do you guys have any ideas?I posted on idea.

I have designed a balloon type ammo with a sabot which will have flour or paint inside it.
