Looking very nice! If you have a problem piloting the valve because of the restriction at the 1/4" male quick connect, you could try putting a half inch barrel nipple between the ball valve and quick connect which will give the pilot air a little room to expand before having its flow reduced by the quick connect. Probably wont be a problem, but it would just save you from adding a tee with another ball valve.

Dude you did a really good and clean job on this. Not to mention the gray pvc makes it look badass. I give it a 10.
Go Bruins!!!!
First of all.
It works magnificent. The only problem that I have is the venting.
It doesn't vent enough to get the piston slide back.
I just unscrewed the bushing so I have a 1/2" porting.
I will put a piece of 1/2" pipe between the ballvalve an quick disconnect.
Thanks to Mr Crowley for mentioning.
Then it works great.
I only tested it with 2bars because it gives a massive bang on the steel reducer. I need to get a spring to put it behind the piston.
I made a little movie just dry firing. The sound in the video can not be compared with the "real sound".
The bang is much louder than in the video.
Here you go...
The video is poor quality.
Tomorrow I will make a better one.
I also made 2 supports out 1cm tick PVC.
I need to mount them in place but thats for thursday evening.

Your pilot valve probably isnt doing the job. You should get a small qev to pilot it. Very nice though. I actually want to make one now!!!! It may also start to slide back when you add more pressure. I had the same problem with my first barrel sealer.
Go Bruins!!!!
I just discovered that the 75mm pvc pipe that i have laying around. I bought a pipe of 5m 75mm.
So a have 4m 75mm pvc pipe left.
Inside the 75mm pipe a tennisball has a perfect fit!
I have cutted a 1,20m 75mm pipe for a tennisball barrel.

I'm currently making a 3" inch version off this!
The piston seat is 2".
And the fittings are much larger than the 2". :p
It also much heavier than the 2" model.

That thing is scary. It would be extremely heavy but make the chamber steel and mount it on a cart. Then you could take it to much higher pressure than 3'' PVC could stand. Definitely keep us posted on this monster!
Sarcasm is the body's natural defense against stupid.

nicly done (you almost need a crane to till your 3' version :p lol that must have some serious power dude! keep us up to date!
Thanx for all the replys.
Ofcourse I will keep updated this one.
MrCrowley: Yes, a pneumatic one.
mattyzip77: I don't know yet. I looked for 3" steel pipe. It's 36€ for 1m. And the stupid thing of all, I can only buy it in lengths of 6m.
ramses: Since I couldn't find it in Belgium stores. I ordered it from the Netherlands online. I payed 19€ for a 3" tee. The other fittings where way below 19€.
Here 2 pics.
the piston will be around 76mm in diameter
3" nipple mounted in the T
