Calculated the volume of my chamber and researched for the volume of a 5 lb co2 tank, then used the P1V1=P2V2 formula.sagthegreat wrote:how did you calculate that?

Looks good, and I like the sturdy looking bent tube stock... makes it look WW-II resistance-weapon-ish.
Also, nice Schrader valve. EDIT: laughing now because my image shows next to the thread in the index. :blackeye:

@bravootome- it is rubber, but I use neoprene that is pre-formed into a washer shape.
@mark f- This is more along the lines of what I was thinking...

I've read that compressed air guns aren't as much affected by temperature as other stored gasses. It seems to me that is an outside Vs Inside pressure issue.jackssmirkingrevenge wrote:Lower temperature equals lower pressure, simple as that - some gasses are more affected than others though.bravootome wrote:I noticed a large loose of power with my gun when the cold weather arrived.

"Gases" stored as liquids (butane, propane and CO2 being the most popular) are greatly affected (+/- pressure) by temperature...google vapor pressure for more info.
Gases stored AS gases are less affected. See "Boyles law of ideal gases".

Also air is very affected. I noticed on my qev. I got same nr. of shoots but the power is much much lower. Not sure if it's the mechanism involved but the cold temperature definitely makes the air not to expand so well......Gippeto wrote:"Gases" stored as liquids (butane, propane and CO2 being the most popular) are greatly affected (+/- pressure) by temperature...google vapor pressure for more info.

If the temperature is lower it doesnt mean the pressure is lower. i fill my gun with same 25 bar pressure in low temp. conditions. i guess they expand different. The effect appears is i fill the gun with 25 bar in a hot place and i put it out to a cold place. But i think the piston is affected by the cold temp. and it just freezes when i shoot..jackssmirkingrevenge wrote:Lower temperature equals lower pressure, simple as that - some gasses are more affected than others though.bravootome wrote:I noticed a large loose of power with my gun when the cold weather arrived.

That seems much more probable than pressure differential. But i think the piston is affected by the cold temp. and it just freezes when i shoot..
