I wanted to share a project of mine that has been the subject of my YouTube channel for a while. I had the idea several years ago to make a shot gun that is powered off compressed air that uses regular spent 20ga shells after picking up many at the range. This has ended up being the star of the channel with us shooting tons of random things out of it such a ketchup, staples, PVC pipe cuttings, hot dogs and silly putty just to name a few. This video explains a lot more one how it works.

The shells are very easily modified and are not permanently modified so if you have a real shotgun you can reload them for that or an air one like mine and use them interchangeably. The only modification that needs to be done is simply removing the spent primmer after they have been fired and this is very simple if you have a reloading press other wise you can just use a punch and a hammer. This hole in the back of the shell allows air to come through and propel the projectile out of the barrel. Due to the fact that these shells are a standard size you can pick them up at any shooting range usually for free. As for loading them this is how I do it for my gun.

This design is very versatile so you could make a semi auto or pump action gun with actual parts or the design from a real gun because the shells you are using are the same as what would be using in the firearm. Really if you wanted to you could take an old shotgun and remove the firing pin and run air right through the firing pin channel witch in a center fired gun will be perfectly centered already for you. If you chose you could really use this design for any caliber you want however it will be much easier with rimmed cartridges especially if you are using a pipe for a barrel and don't have a legit chamber. I invite you to check out my YouTube channel to see more of this gun and some of the other air guns I have made.

How come the "star" of your channel has only 13 views?
Some of those have probably been a result of the link in your post....

Am I missing something here?

Most likely because my channel is not that old and not popular at all.
