I was thinking about an electric valve (like that used in gardens etc)... when it's opened can it holds more than 10/15 bar? My idea is to open the valve and after ignite the gas in the barrel (but this could require a longer barrel, i suppose)
What do you think about it? (I had this idea reading the thread "No burst disk hybrid" written by insomniac)
Iron max pressure?

I spoke to a PUD engineer about this issue yesterday, before my city council meeting. He could not remember seeing any data in his books, but was pretty sure that there is no set or fixed pressure rating for most commonly-found metal pipe. Reason being: different manufacturers and they are not designed (specifically) to hold xxx psi. I specifically inquired about galvanized, sch 40 and sch 80 black. I did see at Lowe's that the rating on a black 1.25" union is only 150 psi.
I'll try to find out more specific info from my engineer friend when he is actually at his office and around his books.
