JME-45 pneumatic monster

This is the JME-45 pneumatic piston gun. I worked on it for about a month.

SPECS

Length: with barrel 9 ft

Chambers: Two six inch fire extinguishers 27 inches each

Barrels: interchangeable
1: 1 inch id copper 84" long
2: 1 1/4 id copper 120" long
3: 3/4 id aluminum 120" long

Valve: custom machined piston valve
Port: 1"
Tee: 1 1/2"

Pilot: 1/4" ball valve attached by a coiled air hose

Operating pressure: 50-250 psi

Ammo:
All calculations are 110 psi

1. 50-120g brass slugs
50ga=556 fps
2. 1" glass marbles 10ga
1075 fps
3. custom arrow 15g
1003 fps

This is the biggest and most powerful gun i have built yet.. at a whopping 250 lbs of push this packs a big punch.

The usual kick with the 1" barrel is about 2 feet with a brass slug

Everything dealing with the piston was bored out and the piston was made at my dads shop

All of the pipe/fittings were bought at a local hardware store.

Copper: $195 total

Iron: $17 total

Valves: 2 ball valves $6.50 each

ENJOY!! :D

Videos:

Video one different pressures usually 50-80 psi targets are old vicars

Video 2 is me and my friend josh i am recording he is shooting the gun

Video 3 is the best video i made. if ur going to only watch one watch this

Very nice... how did you solder 1.5" copper fittings?

EDIT: Well of course you soldered it... but most people are not able to solder multiple 1.5" fittings with a propane torch with an economy pencil torch head. Did you use MAPP gas, acetylene, a swirl flame torch head, etc?

I just love how you didn't post in the Competition section.

Extremely nice cannon though, I would make something out of copper if it didn't cost so damn much. 1 foot of 1/2" copper pipe type L is $5.

Well you've now got an interesting way to split planks

I'm thinking the barrel needs a fixed support, 9' of pipe is going to bend something hanging like that.

Very nice! Did you just use standard pipe threads to connect the fire extinguishers to the rest of the cannon? What type are they also, CO2?

That thing is insane!
Really does need barrel support though.

Other than that, great work.

nice gun!

are we supposed to give suggestions to contest entrants?

spudthug, while it is a crazy cool cannon, it's not all that innovative. piston valves, and that configuration were already done /w/ other cannons.

I'm not insulting your work, Because I love it.
