You might want to add some support under the barrel too, you dont want anymore stress on that joint then nesacery.

Hey hotrocks, I think i came into this one a bit late and you maybe have answered this one allready, but what are you using for an air source. I suggest a small compressor because you dont have to have it portable if its just a project and it will get you nice pressure .
Any ways, good luck! and i wish I also had a cool school project like that 8)

spud yeti, we're going to be using bike pumps for the air source. Compressors aren't allowed.

Yea, we already did that. Hopefully we'll be testing today, in like an hour, so we'll try to hit you up with the results. Hotrocks also says that he got some awesome stuff that is specifically designed to attach wood and pvc pipes for the supports. We'll see how it goes.
well we tested it a few times, average shot was around 100 yards.....300 feet....yeah so it went higher than we wanted it too, and we are fixing that with some supports under the elbows, but overall it turned out amazing! and this was at 20 psi..it was hard to get higher with a bike pump
thanks for all of your help guys.....
Now we need to make it look cool...we are thinking a camo paintjob...mabye metallic...wadda you guys think? Also, for lubricant we are thinking palmolive on a rag and we just wipe the inside of the barrel down with the rag on a broom stick.

Wow! that is a good set of distances! You guys should be proud
Ja, sometimes having your upward angle too big can hinder its distance, so just experiment with that. The paintjod would be decent, i like the camo idea! 8) So the next question... After the project is finished, will you continue building spudguns?? Are you hooked.....

What would make you design it the way you did? I am wondering cause it is a quite random arrangement of pipes and fittings.
