I'm looking for a reliable ignition source. AdvancedSpuds recommends lantern lighters but I can;t find a suply that isn't on-line only. Is there any place these can be store-bought?
If anyone knows a REALLY GOOD brand of bbq sparkers please tell, because I've read that they need to be replaced often exept for the good brands.
Thanks.
EDIT: Nevermind, I have recently found out that Ace hardware carries lantern sparkers. *whacks self with peice of exploded pvc* I can;t beleive I didn't think of that place before. lol

go to spud wiki and search "flyback" if you can get the parts for one your set
so far its the best igniter next to carge box igniter

okay, but right nw I don't have access to ANYTHING usefull for spudding other than a cheesing huge 2000 psi air compresser... but no piping and I don't do pneumatics.
Edit: ARG!!! everything for the flyback but the transistor, and there are n good transistors for this in the area..... :sad8:
Again, Where do you people that use lantern lighters get them?

all you need is a high power transistor or power MOSFET!!
you can power the flyback with a 555 timer and a power MOSFET.
i still want to find a design that works with the new type flyback the ones where you cant change the windings!!!!
